| Under dead palmetto frond, just above the high water mark, between Browns Creek Fish Camp and the Heckscher Drive bridge, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida 1/14/2008 (largest is about 2 mm.). The colony of Assiminea were sharing the habitat with Melampus bidentatus Say, 1822 [Eastern Melampus] - juvenile specimen illustrated in the above image, bottom left. Digital image by Bill Frank. |
